I have always been a big fan of the teeny weeny blonde hair duo who love toting oversized Hermes and Fendi leather bags, wear quirky round sunglasses and have a peculiar old granny taste for everything black and fur - fox, rabbit, mink, raccoon, you name it - they wear it. Yes, I am referring to the fantastic fashionista duo and young businesswomen who own their own line of fashion brands - Olsenboye, Elizabeth and James and The Row- Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen.
Back to my topic on my most recent purchase which was a steal - a goat hair and rabbit fur mix leather cropped coat from Elizabeth and James. I have always pined for one of these gorgeous black goat hair coats with the sheen of a black oil slick ever since my eyes fell on the Dolce&Gabbana "Gorilla Shoulder/ Arms" Coat as seen in Dolce&Gabbana's Fall Winter 2009 collection.
Many designers followed suit to copy the fantastic oversized, long hair coat style, DVF - Diane Von Furstenburg, Maison Martin Margiela and most noteworthy - Burberry London and Burberry Prorsum by Christopher Bailey. Just check out this absolutely luxurious and wondrous creation - A goat hair, rabbit fur, blue fox and shearling mix lambskin leather jacket by Burberry London that has now sold out.
So, tell me what you think about my latest purchase and let me know if you have a similar looking cropped coat in your closet!
