Cyber Punk - The Future is Now

Cyber Punk Tribal Tendencies: A style described by me as sexy punk rock meets the future. The punk rock factor lies in the Zara metal beaded shorts, black hat from H&M and gold chain woven Stella McCartney inspired Falabella bag from Australian label Bardot, paired with over-the-knee boots painted white by Dolce Vita. The tribal tendencies come from the funky tribal print tiger motif print sweater from French high-street label Jennyfer. Lastly, the futuristic vision is illustrated with bright yellow futuristic shades from Prada's Fall Winter 2011 runway collection.

I take off my hat off and salute all other cyber punk tribal warriors.

The awesome Zara metal beaded shorts goes with anything; a pretty  versatile addition to one's stylish closet.

Turning back to show details of the Dolce Vita white painted over-the-knee boots and Stella McCartney inspired Falabella bag design in gold.

Yes, I run my weekend errands in the very same outfit I feature on my blog because it just happens. I don't choose what to wear, it just comes to me sometimes.

Hanging out at the local cafe where you can see an even closer up shot of the Zara metal beaded shorts.

amfAR's Ultimate Gold Collection Fashion Show in Cannes

The theme for this year's charity auction fashion show hosted by amfAR in Cannes to benefit AIDS research was Gold. The Ultimate Gold Fashion show was directed by ext Vogue fashion editor Carine Roitfeld and featured top luxury designers for brands like Gucci, Prada, Valentino, Roberto Cavalli, Versarce, Givenchy and more. Top models and notable fashion personalities like Julia Restoin Roitfeld walked the runway and the gold fashion runway collection items raised a total of 1.2 million euros.

Here is my review of the runway pieces and interesting runway personalities.

Chinese jewellery designer Bao Bao Wan is a spitting image of Donatella Versace in poise, tanner limit and hairdo as she walks down the runway in a not so gold dress by Alexander Wang.

Danny Beauchamp shows his smouldering hot tummy and sneak preview of his groin area in this cheeky maritime inspired suit by Thom Browne.

Can't help but feel Moncler was inspired by none other than the Legolas from LOTR (Lord of the Rings) in a huge gold cape.

Joan Smalls walks the runway in a lovely tiered ruffle, pleated and layered gold skirt perfected by Givenchy.

Jon Kortajarena smoulders in a gold collared tuxedo jacket by Roberto Cavalli.

Kati Nescher is a picture of poetry, love and romance in this beautiful champagne gold dress by Armani Prive.

Lily Donaldson is as smug as Icarus in this gold feathered and lace mesh dress by Gucci.

Rosie-Huntington Whiteley sparkles in a regal gold cut-out Alexander McQueen gown with a jeweled neckline.

Stef van der Laan transforms into a Grecian Goddess in a beautiful white gown with an ornately decorated waist by Marchesa.

Tilda Lindstam looks glamorous and flirty in a gold J.W Anderson two-piece outfit.

Supermodel of the moment Karlie Kloss closed the amfAR Ultimate Gold Collection fashion show in Cannes in an Indian saree inspired dress.

Trend Alert: Cut Out Boots As Seen on Selena Gomez

Cut out boots were made popular by Azzedine Alaia when celebrities and style icons such as Lindsay Lohan and Ashley Olsen started wearing them years ago.

It looks like sexy cut out boots are here to stay with pop princess Selena Gomez seen sporting a lovely pair of Brian Atwood Electra Leather Cutout Knee-High Boots (see below in the middle) paired with a Burberry trench coat for a guest appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman in late April.

Just Cavalli Spring Summer 2013

The Just Cavalli Spring Summer 2013 Campaign can be described as a tropical sporty meets sexy glam rock look featuring Roberto Cavalli's signature leopard, snakeskin and Florentine prints in his complete womenswear and menswear collection featuring female supermodels Aline Weber, Ginta Lapina, Emily DiDonato and male models Chris Bunn, Chris Petersen and Thomas Guarracino.

The models wear mirrored strapped heels in cool metallic shades.

These prints look like a whole mess of fun!

Pair boring old stripey shorts with graphic print T-shirts and gain and instant refreshing update to your look.

The devil is in the details here as Roberto Cavalli smartly prints on black shapes on the collar of the tuxedo shirt to resemble a bow tie. Look fierce in a leopard print jacket and matching print handbag.

Update the red jeans look with a graphic T-shirt for that modern punk look. Who says you can't favourite animal (leopard) on your top and look cool?

Style Tip: Always choose prints in bright colours. Dull colours are more suitable for work-wear or an older look.

The elastic waistband of the trousers adds a fun and laid-back look to the sexy blue-green snakeskin print shirt.

I am so happy and lucky I got the blazer as featured in the Just Cavalli Spring Summer 2013 campaign when I made my last pilgrimage to Paris. I loved the masculine men's cut of the blazer and the wild and exotic quintessentially Cavalli prints on the blazer. As usual, I had a difficult time debating whether I should buy the jacket or not but finally gave in as I saw it more as not just a statement jacket but an art piece in itself as well.

Don't fear going all matchy-matchy when it comes to snake prints. Roberto Cavalli has perfected this exotic reptilian print on silk crepe trousers and comfy sneakers.

Wear you favourite classic style - leopard prints on your sleeves, chest and bottom half as well and feel drop dead gorgeous like Aline Weber as pictured here in the campaign.

Just Rebel! Take a style tip or two from Roberto Cavalli and listen to yourself when it comes to dressing up or down in style!

Denim never looked better with tri-tonal colours on the collar, chest panels and main body of this long-sleeved casual shirt. To pump up the glam, pair snake prints with more exotic prints like a crocodile stamped belt.

Mediterranean chic in a head to toe mottled blue floral print jacket and pants with gold embroidery detailing on the jacket collar, sleeves and belt trimming.

Sunday Street Style: Teddy Boy Trooper

Meet Pearlyn from Singapore in today's edition of SUNDAY STREET STYLE. We were excited to bump into her at a taxi rank outside a shopping mall. Pearlyn was with her stylish friends at that moment.

What made Pearlyn stand out of the crowd was her unmistakably cool sense of dressing in her bright lemon yellow platform shoes or brothel creepers that were popular in the UK during the 1950s when the Teddy Boy subculture emerged. She wore her cool yellow brother creepers with a matching T-shirt that had a neon yellow tiger face on it which she paired with graphic black and white bold striped shorts which had floral bouquet prints on it.

Teenagers in Singapore should definitely learn from Pearlyn on how to experiment with different styles and find one that works for them.

Featured Fashion Blogger: Alexander Liang

25-year-old Alexander Liang is a young entrepreneur and Fashion Editor of his own media publication KENTON magazine. The word KENTON has it's origin from the Old English word meaning “from the King’s town”, “Regal” and “Bold”.

Alexander is well-known for his sharp style of dressing in smartly tailored jackets and blazers but he can also pull off casual dressing equally well.

Find out more about this stylish Canadian fashionista in our special Q&A with Alexander.

8 Questions with Alexander Liang

Q1. Tell us a little bit about yourself. Where are you from? How old are you?

I’m a 25 year old entrepreneur, fashion editor and style blogger from Toronto, Canada. I was born and raised in Vancouver before moving to New York, where I started my company, online fashion publication KENTON magazine.

Q2. Who or what influences your fashion style?

My style is influenced by many things. Most often by unique style I see on the streets, but also from the runways and my travels to various spots around the world.

Q3. What are your favourite fashion brands or stores and why?

I have a very wide range of favorite brands. I love Herm├Ęs, Alexander McQueen and Burberry Prorsum, but also Club Monaco and Zara. I tend to gravitate to a select group of emerging designers, as well as streetwear labels and sport/surf brands, like Vans and Billabong too.

Q4. Can you show us a sneak peak of your wardrobe? I'm sure I'm not the only one who's dying to raid your wardrobe!

This is what Alexander's wardrobe looks like. He was interviewed by online fashion magazine - The Unprecedented in the style segment "Closet Confessions".

We all lust after his closet and his incredibly cool personal style.

Q5. You started KENTON magazine in 2010. How much progress do you personally feel you have you made from then to the present day?

It’s definitely been quite a journey. I don’t think I could have ever predicted exactly where we’d be now back in 2010. KENTON has grown so much and while I’m very pleased with how far we’ve come, I see many more developments in the future. It’s a constant work in progress for sure.

Q6. Tell us more about the KENTON magazine team. How many staff does it consist of? Are there any notable or colorful personalities in your team?

Our team is quite dynamic and I would say that each member is a character of his or her own. There are ten core team members that partake in the day to day activities of the magazine, but we have many more contributors in various capacities.

Q7. What is the culture at the KENTON magazine team like?

We’re casual, we have fun, but we work hard day in and day out, at all hours of the day. It’s a labor of love and we’ve become a family, drawn together by our passions.

Q8. What are your aspirations for the future of KENTON magazine, your personal site alexanderliang.com and beyond?

I’d love to see both websites continue to grow and inspire. There are some exciting things in the works, so stay tuned to see what comes next!

Once again, we thank Alexander, fashion editor of KENTON magazine and alexanderliang.com and wish him all the best in growing his fashion publication and personal site. Do check out both the sites and let us know what you think!

Billboard Music Awards 2013 Best & Worst Dressed

Here is a list of our Best & Worst Dressed Celebrities from the Billboard Music Awards 2013 red carpet event in Las Vegas which took place last Sunday.

Jennifer Lopez looking sexy and elegant, putting women a decade younger than here (i.e. Carly Rae Jepsen) to shame in a plunging gold feather filigree dress by Zuhair Murad.

Charmed star Alyssa Milano looks bewitching in all white as she attempts a successful layering of a beautifully embroided one-shoulder short dress with a two-tonal white see-through harem pants.

Carly Rae Jepsen looks like either she or her stylist has ran out of ideas and chose a matchy-matchy black on black combo from head to toe.

Country pop singer Taylor Swift looks iconic in a metallic blue patchwork dress with mesh cut-out details at the chest.

Our cutest couple award goes to this adorable duo who are best friends in real life. Both ladies share the same impeccable style when it comes to fashion.

Miley Cyrus looks like a harlequin pin-up doll with her short blond (wig) hair. If it was a Halloween costume party, she might have out-shined everyone else. The outfit is no doubt dazzling bout should be reserved for older ladies. Miley would have plenty of time to experiment more matured styles later on in life.

A guest from the Billboard Awards 2013 event wears what appears to be last Christmas's tinsel decoration for trees and silver foil gift wrappers stolen from unwanted fake present boxes at the bottom of sad Christmas trees housed in malls.

This lady wanted to dress up for Halloween like Miley too except that her hot dog outfit was a bit airy in front and the prints just resembled a badly decomposing and mouldy hot dog outfit.
